There are many different parts to set up on your Irox ProX so here are some tips to help. Please read the instruction manual carefully to familiarize yourself with all the parts and your input that will be required.
Before placing any of the items in their intended locations the Irox ProX Weather Station should be tested in operation. The best way to do this is by placing all the items on a bench for example, ready to be powered up.
Indoor Console
When switching on the main indoor console for the first time you will be required to adjust the altitude if you live above sea level to obtain an accurate weather forecast, if is not done at this point it cannot be altered later and the station will need to be restarted. The correct setting should be entered when the relevant icon flashes (see manual).
Outdoor sensors
The next part is to intialise the outdoor sensors. When the indoor console is ready to receive the sensors a "radar" symbol located in the outdoor temperature / humidity window will flash. This means that the indoor console is in a "learn" mode and ready to receive signals from the sensors.
The batteries should then be placed in each of the sensors or the battery protection "tab" removed if they are already fitted. At this point make sure the data is picked up from each one of the sensors before re-fitting the battery covers. If the "radar" symbol disapprears after a few minutes it means the "learn" mode has ended. You can re-start this operation by opening the door on the right side of the indoor console and pressing and holding the "down" arrow. This sequence particularly useful if the UV sensor / data has not been received as that sensor will only transmit data every 5 minutes and therfore may have been missed out.
Sensor locations
Once all the sensor data is received they can then be placed into the chosen locations. You will need to take into account the relative location to the indoor console so that the distance and building fabric are not too great for the sensors to be received by it. Also bear in mind that whilst a rain gauge needs to be fully exposed to obtain an accurate reading, the temperature / humidity sensor should be in a shaded postion (i.e. an open porch) to ensure an "ambient" and not direct reading where it may "bake" in heat or "freeze" in snow.
PC Connection
This is done by simply installing either the "Lite" or "Full" version of the Weather Display software from the CD Rom supplied. Connection is via the USB cable supplied with the product. In either case you will need to set up the station type and any other relevant data requirements which are explained in our "Weather Software" section of the knowledge base.
The Irox ProX is capable of recording over 3000 data lines and is pre-set to 15 minute intervals. Should you wish to alter the frequency you will need to download and run the Weather Capture Irox software from their website.

Both software packages should not be run at the same time to avoid conflicts.
Please note that you need to use full version of the Weather Display software to enable you to download the information captured by the datalogger, the lite version does not have a datalogger download facility.
