My Oregon WMR100 Rain Gauge does not appear to work

If you do not appear to be receiving any readings and the indoor console is showing "0.0" it may be that there has been no rain recorded for the last 2 / 3 hours and so anything recorded previously to that will have been added to the "total "or cumulative figure which can be viewed by pressing "memory" when in the "rain" section.

If the indoor console is showing "- -" on the rain of your indoor console display it may be that it has lost the radio connection between the two units.

Re-learning the radio connection

To rectify this you will need to ensure the rain gauge is within "radio coverage" to be received by the indoor console. The easiest way to test this is to place both the indoor console and the rain gauge next to each other on a bench.

To avoid losing data and settings caused by a full reset use the small round "search" button which located on the base of the indoor console to one side of the battery cover. Briefly press the button once and a "beep" will be heard, then press and hold the button down and you will hear a further "beep" and be able see various parts of the display flashing, this indicates that the indoor console is ready to "re-learn" the sensors.

There may be a period of one minute before the connection with the rain gauge is re-established. If no connection is established check the batteries in "all" units and follow the setup process once more including the main outdoor Wind / Temperature sensor if nessesary.

Re-locating the rain gauge

When the connection has been established replace the rain gauge in an alternative location to "test" the transmission capabilities and retain the connection with the indoor console. By moving the rain gauge away in small steps you will discover, if nessesary, where the connection is lost in which case a different site for the rain gauge will need to be found.
